Sunset Speedway Saturday August 16th 2008
The first heat Tom started 7th and worked his way up to a 3rd place finish
The second heat had Tom starting on the front row outside of 45 of Rob Poole. At the drop of the green Tom wasted no time
getting out front and stayed there going onto take the win.
Due to some on track incidents, the evening was rolling much later than anticipated and the late models would have their
feature cut down to 18 laps. This would provide for some interesting racing as Tom was starting in the 13th position and
knew he would have his work cut out for him with the 11 of Chris Morrow and the 19 of Jason Witty in front of him. A
fantastic battle was shaping up between Chris Morrow, Stompin' Tom Walters and Jason Witty. The three cars had stormed
through the field together with the 11 of Chris Morrow now leading, for the closing 5 laps, Stompin' Tom searched for a way
by on the inside, but Morrow had the low groove locked up tight. As the checkers dropped, the top three were Morrow,
Walters and Witty.
Special thank you to everyone from South Simcoe Special Olympics for their support. It was great to see everyone coming out
for the fan appreciation. The crew did a great job as they always do. Also a big congratulations to Herb "cheque casher"
Walters on his win Saturday night.

The first heat Tom started 8th. With 11 of Chris Morrow on the pole for the first heat, he would set the pace and jump ahead
quickly and staying green all the way, 11 went on to win and Tom worked his way up to a 4th place finish.
In the Semi, Tom started 3rd. Tom finished 2nd behind the 1 of Vic Parsons. Now the field was set for the 100 laps and Tom
was ready for the challenge.
Tom started 10th in the feature. In the first half of the race Tom was very patient and saving tires watching all the while
what was happening up front. With the 20 of Dwight Brown out early, the crew were aware that this could be a good opportunity
to make up some ground in the points as well. At about the half way point of the race Stompin Tom began the charge to the
front, and once he got to the front, this is where he would remain for the finish with the 1 of Vic Parsons chasing him down
and finishing 2nd. Tom and the crew came home with a big win and a great birthday present. With this win, Tom now stands 1st
in the points at Kawartha and Vic Parsons close behind in 2nd. The drive for 25 is alive.
Congratulations to everyone on the crew for this win. Thank you to everyone for their support and the sponsors are awesome
and its great to give back to the supporters and fans of Stompin Tom Motorsports.
Be safe everyone and see you all again back in Kawartha on Wednesday August 13th, which is a 75 lap race.
Please note that Saturday July 26, 2008 at Sunset Speedway was cancelled due to flooding in the pit area.

For the first heat Tom would start outside pole along side of the 28 of Rod Tooley. On the green Tom wasted no time getting
ut front where he would stay for the rest of the heat going onto win.
The second heat had Tom starting 5th but the 19 of Jason Witty was able to hold Tom off for the win with Tom coming 2nd.
Coming off 2 good heats and a very responsive racecar, Tom and the crew were quite happy going into the feature.
For the feature, Tom would be starting 12th behind, the 11 of Morrow and the 19 of Jason Witty. When the green flag fell
Tom prepared for takeoff, at lap 13 the caution would come out, at this point Tom was in 2nd behind the 03 of Dario Cappricchio.
Within a few laps Tom had made the pass for the lead and would not look back. But during the feature Tom was loosing brakes,
and then had to get up on the wheel to bring this win. In the closing laps the 19 of Jason Witty was able to catch Tom in
the corner but just could not get by as Tom would hold of Jason for the the win.
Stompin Tom wins the 50 lapper. The crew had done an awesome job all day long. It was great to have our sponsors out on
this evening, as well having HF Smith Lumber on hand presenting the trophies. The fans and spectators are fantastic and
great and big thanks goes out to everyone involved in making these nights great. The drive for 25 is alive and we will
keep working towards the goal.
This Friday July 25th, is 100 lap race at Kawartha. Hope to see everyone make the trip out there. Stay cool everyone.

The feature from June 21st had Tom starting 12th outside of the 11 of Morrow. Tom would make contact with 11 early in the
race and with the caution not coming out and 11 gathering up quickly it would stay green and go flag to flag with Tom
winning the feature.
The first heat had Tom starting 4th and was AMAZING...Tom and Morrow came off turn 4 side-by-side Morrow got wayyy lose
bounced off Tom, Morrow was able to straighten himself out and get to the checkers about 1/4 of a car length 1st with Tom
coming home 2nd.
The second heat had Tom starting 5th. Tom wasted little time getting to the front and going on to win the heat.
The feature had Tom starting in the 14th position with tight racing all the way through, the race went flag to flag with
the 11 of Morrow winning and Tom coming home 2nd.
Later that night, Tom and Chris were in great spirits and congratulating each other on another eventful and fun filled
evening of racing at Sunset.
Thank you to the crew for their dedication and support.
We would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting Sunset and Stompin Tom. It was great to have the sponsors on
hand for the evening and hope to see everyone in 2 weeks back at Sunset. Please note we will be racing Peterborough
Speedway this Saturday night for their 100 lap event. THE DRIVE FOR 25 IS ALIVE.
Have an awesome week everyone and have a great CANADA DAY. Stay cool.

The first heat had Tom starting outside pole with the 98 of Graham inside. Tom worked his way forward with 2 laps to go
it would be side by side with the 22 of Delisle, racing Tom hard for the lead, it would be Tom coming out on top to win
the checkers.
The semi had Tom starting 4th outside of the 14 of Horner. Tom wasted no time getting himself in position and going onto
win the semi.
For the feature Tom would be starting 7th in the field. Coming off 2 wins on the night so far, the team was happy with the
car and hoping for a good finish on the night. The feature saw some good hard racing. The caution would come out with a
handful of laps left to go bunching up the field and the makings of an exciting finish. With about 4 laps left to go it
would be the 20 of Delisle and 47 of Tom racing each other hard side by side every lap. Coming out of turn 4 to the checkers,
still side by side 20 was outside of Tom when the 1 of Parsons tried to make it 3 wide, caught Tom's car in the corner,
Tom managed to keep from spinning coming home 2nd to the 20 of Delisle. Vic ended up making hard contact with the inside
wall causing hard damage, but he was not hurt.
Have a great CANADA DAY everyone! See you all Friday night.

The first heat had Tom starting 6th. With that Tom went to work quickly and made some exciting moves to the front chasing
down 03 of Dario Capprichio moving back and forth causing Dario to wonder whether Tom would look inside or outside for the
lead, and hold him off. But Tom went upstairs and did not look back going on to take the checkered flag.
The second heat had Tom on the pole with the 40 of Charlie Gallant outside. The green flag fell and Tom led every lap going
onto take the checkered flag in heat 2 as well.
The feature, well we did not make it that far. Due to an unfortunate accident in the 4 cylinder feature. The rest of the
evening was cancelled and the feature for June 21 will be run on June 28. Tom will be starting 12th in the feature. It was
a great night for Tom and the crew. The DRIVE FOR 25 IS ALIVE.
On Saturday June 28, 2008 there will be double features for the late models as well as fan appreciation night. Be sure to
get there early as autographs and giveaways happen shortly after 6pm. We look so forward to the excitement of the kids
faces. These nights give all the teams a nice boost to know that the fans enjoy what they see. Come one, come all and come
early.
Thank you to the sponsors and crew for their neverending support. Be sure to check out the new championship t-shirts. Also
we have hats arriving Saturday.
